Spreadable Butter Straigh from the Cow?

Scientists are breeding cows that can produce skimmed milk and butter that is so soft it spreads straight from the fridge.

A team in New Zealand have identified a cow, named Marge, which naturally produces lower levels of saturated fat in her milk.

They believe her unusual characteristics could be bred into other herds so delivering low-fat milk that is healthy and tasty.

Not only could these cows produce "natural" skimmed milk but the low-fat content will create butter that does not become a solid brick when put in the fridge.

Google to Improve Image Search?

Google bloggers at the weekend were all a tizz when a new service was found on Google Image search.

By adding "&imgtype=face".GG

For example try the following search for Paris, here you'll find the standard Google image results, however apend the URL with "&imgtype=face" and you get the following results.

You can also search news images by adding "" to the end of the URL.

The same search for Paris with the URL changed to news will result in the following results.

Could this have been created with the help of Googles Image Labeler?

University & College Union issues its view on Civil Partnerships

The University & College Union has today said thqat teachers should not be allowed to promote marriage over homosexual partnerships, and any such promotion should be treated as discrimination.

From the BBC

Government guidance on new sexual orientation regulations says that faith schools will not be breaking the law if they continue to teach that homosexuality is a sin.

The guidance states: "If a faith school (or indeed any school) teaches that the Christian and Muslim faiths decree that same-sex sexual activity is a sin, then the school will not be acting unlawfully.

"Similarly, if a pupil asks a teacher his views on homosexuality and the teacher gives his view, then again, that teacher will not be acting unlawfully."

A replacement for Prozac?

Psychology Today, tell us how semen is good for depression..

The finding that women who do not use condoms during sex are less depressed and less likely to attempt suicide than are women who have sex with condoms and women who are not sexually active, leads one researcher to conclude that semen contains powerful—and potentially addictive—mood-altering chemicals...

Gallup's study, which he deems "the first serious attempt to investigate the effect of semen chemistry on women," titillated the public and rankled some academics upon publication in Archives of Sexual Behavior. Gallup says he has since replicated the findings with a sample of 700 women and will examine whether "semen withdrawal" places women at an increased risk for depression when they are premenstrual, menopausal or have just given birth, as many women abstain from sex during these periods.

How will this affect semen stock levels!

George Michel and the "cocktail" of drugs

George Michael, who admitted to driving while unfit, had a cocktail of legal and illegal drugs in his system, including GHB and cannabis, a court was told today.

George, 43, was not present at today's hearing, was found slumped at the wheel of his Mercedes in Cricklewood, North London, in October last year.

Prosecutor Andrew Torrington told Brent Magistrates Court that tests had shown a therapeutic quantity of an anti-depressant in the singer's system as well as the illegal, Class C, dance club drug GHB that is frequently known as liquid ecstasy. Cannabis was also found in his blood, but the prosecution does not maintain that this was the cause of his intoxication.

The Ex Wife of The Hoff, has spoken out for the first time since the release of this drunken video, which showed the shirtless actor slurring his words and struggling to eat a burger.

The footage, was shot by the couple's daughter Taylor-Ann, 17, was just a small glimpse at his long term struggle, according to his ex wife Pamela Bach.

She told American magazine Us Weekly: "He has been to the emergency room at least 12 to 13 times at Cedars-Sinai - under aliases - for alcohol poisoning. He's been through three rehabs - in 2001, 2002, and 2004."

The Hoff's lawyer Melvin Goldsman denied both claims.

Convicted Paedophile is Living in the Grounds of a primary School

From the BBC:

"A convicted paedophile is living in the grounds of a primary school despite a court battle to evict him.

Timothy Martin, 34, was found guilty at St Albans Crown Court last week of sexual activity with a child.

A judge refused an eviction bid in December saying Martin had a tenancy agreement and, as he was awaiting trial, did not have a conviction.

Martin is on bail awaiting sentencing - an appeal against the failed eviction bid will be heard on 25 May.

Martin moved into the school cottage last July when he was offered the job of caretaker at Beechfield School in Watford, Herts.

Police checks by the school then revealed the investigation against him."

Are Mobile Phones causing the death of the bees?

Bees are disappearing throughout the country, seemingly abandoning their colonies. OK, this might not seem like such a big deal either, but keep in mind that most of the world’s crops depend on pollination by bees… and this becomes a more serious issue.

Albert Einstein only once said that if bees disappeared, “man would have only four years of life left.”

Scientists now claim that the cause be radiation from mobile phones. The theory is that the radiation given off by the mobile phones and our other beloved gadgets could possibly be interfering with the bees’ navigation systems, preventing the works from finding their way back to their hives. One recent study even found that bees refused to return to their hives when mobile phones are placed nearby.

Aparently, according to urban legend... This small episode of the show was made at a drunken party with the whole Rainbow cast. Its extreamly funny, and a great play on words
